Review: Lush Let the Good Times Roll Face and Body Cleanser

Hello, lovelies! The next few days, you're going to be seeing lots of Lush reviews, so if you're curious about their products or you're already a fan, stay tuned! :)

First up is the Let the Good Times Roll Cleanser. This item was originally only seasonal, and would come out every year around Christmas. However, due to popular demand, it is now available all year round, and is one of Lush's more famous products.

As you can see,. I used up almost the entire container, so I have a pretty good idea how this works on my skin. The pictures really don't do it justice -- what makes this stuff so popular is the smell. It smells exactly like caramel popcorn, super sweet and yummy. I'll admit I used and loved it the first few weeks largely for that reason.

But while we all love nice-smelling face products, none of that means anything if it doesn't work on your skin, right? That's where this doesn't quite live up to all the hype. The idea with this and Lush's other roll cleansers is that you take a pea-sized pinch, put it in the palm of your hand, add a few drops of water, and make a paste, which then goes on your skin. The result is an exfoliating scrub that cleanses skin without being too harsh. However, it left a residue behind that reminded me of the feeling I would get if I rubbed candy all over my face -- not the feeling I'm going for when I wash my face in the morning. Toner gets rid of that, but in the end, I found it didn't do much to improve or worsen my skin. It just kept it at a happy medium. Considering my skin can get pretty crazy, that is in fact a compliment. But I expect a little more out of my cleansers, and moved on to other Lush products (which I will review later) to better deal with my acne and oily skin.

This product is cute and fun, but if you're serious about your skincare like me, Lush makes better products that will do what you need more thoroughly and efficiently than this did. Skip it unless you have really good skin and just want a nice smelling scrub for the mornings.

You can find Let the Good Times Roll and other Lush products at lush.com, or in Lush boutiques. The smaller 3.5 oz container, which I recommend if you're trying out any of their products for the first time, is $12.95 USD, while the full size 8.8 oz is $31.95 USD.

Which Lush products have you tried? Which would you recommend to friends?

  1. Hey Jackie! How are you? Well I like Lush but I don't really use body scrubs, I tend to use this exfoliating puff or scrubber thing with my body gel but maybe I should use some of the scrubs I have!

    Have a great weekend :)
