NEW Milani Baked Blush in Bella Rosa

Hi, guys!!! I bought my first piece of makeup in months the other day, and I think it's safe to say I'm happy with my purchase.

Milani is pretty famous for their baked blushes, primarily because their main line is very reminiscent of MAC's baked products. But while their shimmery blushes are good and decently pigmented, they take some layering to get the desired effect on dark skin and, as a result, were nothing to write home about for me. I much preferred using my NARS blushes (review here) for everyday looks.

However as I was perusing the aisles at my local CVS, this new blush immediately caught my eye. First of all, the color was gorgeous, the perfect shade of deep pink for my skin. Second, unlike the glitter bomb shades Milani usually carries, this was a matte blush, something I had been lacking in my collection. It seemed like the perfect blush to transition into spring without getting carried away, and I immediately shelled out the $8 to buy it.

As you can see, one swipe reveals that the blush is VERY pigmented, and very much true to the color in the container. I would describe it as a pure fuschia, plain and simple. If you know anything about me, you know this color is right up my alley, I couldn't wait to put it on.

At first it seemed too pigmented, like I had applied too much. But it blended very easily, and I was left with a beautiful lit-from-within glow, exactly the effect I was going for. I think I've found a new everyday blush, and may be taking a break from my go to color, Mata Hari by NARS.

You can find Milani blushes at any drugstore, though prices will vary depending on where you go.This is an awesome alternative if you can't or won't pay for high end blushes that cost $15 and up.This shouldn't set you back more that $10, and if you get it at CVS, you can return it OPENED (yes, that's right, opened!) if you don't like it.

How many of you have tried the new matte line of Milani blushes? What was your favorite shade, and what did you think of it? Tweet me @beautymdsimple or comment below and let me know!

  1. Jackie! I haven't seen you in ages! So glad you are back with another great review. I have always wanted to get my hands on the Milani blushes but they are hard to find here. This one looks so pigmented. You look great by the way, love those cute glasses!
