FOTD: Proud Peacock

Hello everyone! Hope the Monday blues aren't getting you down. I got stuck in horrible traffic and couldn't make it in to school, so I'm in a surprisingly good mood. Of course initially I thought I would be going to school (and work, if they call me in), so I decided to do my makeup! This look was inspired by one of my favorite things in the whole world, peacock feathers. I just think they're positively gorgeous and the color combo transitions perfectly into makeup looks.

I used a Sephora palette that was given to me as a gift by a friend for this look, so I don't have any specific shade names (the package doesn't come with any). I used a dark olive green for the lid color, a sapphire blue in the crease, and a bronze color in the outer corner. I also used a matte brown that was close to my skin tone to help blend out the colors and make them more daytime appropriate. Then I used my MAC Pro Longwear Foundation, my Milani Baked Blush in Bella Rosa, Guerlain Teracotta bronzer, and Maybelline Color Sensational lipstick in Broadway Bronze on the lips. The blue in my crease didn't show up as well as I would have liked, but I'm still happy with the look overall.

What colors from nature inspire your makeup?

  1. Peacocks are so beautiful, I did a makeup look a while back using the colors as well. Love the look.
