Review: Milani XL All Over Glow Bronzer in Fake Tan

Evening, all! This summer has been full of beauty surprises for me. If you had told me last year that I would own and love two bronzers and that I would wear them almost every day, I probably would have thought you were crazy. But alas, I've finally joined the dark side and grown to love bronzers and see them for the awesome product they are.

With that said, I never thought I'd find one I really liked in the drugstore. Most of them aren't even CLOSE to being dark enough for contouring, and if I just wanted a quick all over glow I have highlighters that do just that. I figured I was doomed to spending massive amounts of money on deep bronzers like the one from Guerlain and that my light skinned friends would have to enjoy the $10 bronzers without me. But just as I was getting ready to leave CVS the other day, I stumbled across this gem in the oh so tiny Milani section. Initially I wasn't thrilled with the two different shades, but I liked the HUGE size of the compact and the fact that the darker side of the duo seemed just dark enough for my skin. I figured it was worth a try, and with CVS' great return policy I could always bring it back if I hated it.

Milani XL All Over Glow Bronzer retails for $9.99 plus tax at CVS. A little pricey for a drugstore bronzer, but nothing compared to my $55 Guerlain one. When I first swatched the two colors, I was a bit disappointed. The darker brown, pictured below on the left, looked ashy and not as dark as I'd hoped. The lighter color was nice, but a little chalky.

However, when I applied this, I was blown away. The darker shade appears MUCH darker on the cheek than it does swatched on my hand, and makes for a lovely contour shade. The lighter color is a nice highlight, and gives a nicer glow to my face than any other highlighter I currently own. The combination makes me look sun kissed, and gives me that dewy effect without my having to wear a dewy foundation that would grease up my skin.

Women of color, you need this in your life.

Light skinned girls, you need this in your life, too. There's a lighter shade, 01, which would be perfect for you and give the same effect.

This is my skin with tinted moisturizer, the Milani XL All Over Glow Bronzer, and a little blush on. See the subtle glow on my skin? I LOVE this look, it's so appropriate for summer and it'll work during the winter as well. I know I'll be using this up and repurchasing, and since I'm terrified this may be getting discontinued soon (the display for it was small and it was at the very bottom of the Milani section), I just might buy one early to make sure I always have one!

You can find Milani XL All Over Glow Bronzer at CVS or any other drugstore in your area, and on the Milani website. Let me know if you try it out and what you think of it!

  1. I have bronzers and like them but I will admit that I don't usually wear them. I have the Lorac baked bronzer which is more like a highlight I don't know why they call it a bronzer, and I have the e.l.f. blush and bronzer duo which is the one I use to contour with.

Great review! Sound like a bargain for the quality & amount of product you get. I may just have to pick this up!
