Review: Revlon Colorburst Lip Gloss

Revlon is by far one of my favorite drugstore brands. They are miles ahead of the rest in terms of color selection and quality. You'll probably see me reviewing more of their products in the future, but the one I'm loving right now is their Colorburst Lip Gloss line. I have three so far and plan to buy more. Here's my little mini-collection:

Bordeaux

A deep wine red with shimmer. It's just sheer enough to be wearable for daytime. Great summer and fall color!

Rosegold

A muted pink/brown. I like that this color is buildable -- you can wear a thin wash of color for an everyday look, or build it up to a deeper color to wear at night with a smokey eye.

Sunset Peach

My least favorite of the bunch. It doesn't have the amazing pigmentation of the other two, and all the gorgeous orange and peach shimmer present in the tube doesn't translate onto my lips. It's not much better than wearing a clear gloss.

The texture of these is thicker than your average lipgloss. With the exception of Sunset Peach, they're much more pigmented, too. I would categorize them more as liquid lipsticks than as glosses. The lasting power is excellent too. The shine fades after an hour or two, but a gorgeous stain is left behind that lasts until you eat or drink something. I don't expect my lip products to last through meals -- in fact I usually wipe them off before I eat because I don't like the feel of them on my lips when I'm eating. Maybe that's just me. :)

These retail for around $7-9 depending on where you shop, and I often see them on sale at my CVS, so it's possible to get them for even cheaper. The quality is amazing for such a low price, and I find myself wearing Bordeaux and Rosegold more than almost any other lip product I own because they go with everything.  Definitely repurchasing when I run out!

Have any of you tried Revlon Colorburst Lip Gloss? If so, what did you think! Let me know in the comments. :)
